The Upper West Side keeps getting shinier. We did not get the memo. Dim room, worn-in stools, neon in the window, a pool table in the back that actually gets used. Bartenders pour without a speech. Regulars treat the rail like a living room.

This is still a real UWS dive: stiff cheap pours, neon beer signs, and a room that feels like a clubhouse. Columbia kids, pensioners, and the occasional hustler share the same popcorn bowl. New York Magazine called it a clubhouse. That’s the idea.
